WELCOME

Georgetown Central Principal

I’m so glad you’re here! At Georgetown, we believe every child brings something special to our school community. Our goal is to nurture curiosity, support growth, and help students become kind, responsible, and creative problem solvers. Learning at GCS is a team effort with students, staff, families, and our community all working together to help each child shine.

Through hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and time spent working and playing together, our students grow into thoughtful, engaged learners. We focus on building strong academic skills while also helping children live our core values every day: being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. We’re proud of our small school with a big heart, and we can’t wait to learn and grow together this year.

Warmly,

Katelyn Miller, Principal

SPOTLIGHT

Sarah Mancini - Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher

Sarah Mancini

This year, we are proud to welcome Ms. Sarah as our new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) teacher at GCS. A familiar face in our school community, Sarah has supported students in a variety of roles over the past four years. She brings a wealth of experience from public and private schools, summer camps, and youth programs, and a clear passion for helping children feel seen, heard, and supported. In her new role, Ms. Sarah will guide students in building skills like resilience, empathy, and emotional awareness through creative and meaningful activities. From mindfulness walks in the woods to art projects and cooperative games, she believes every interaction is a chance to help kids grow. We are so grateful to have her leading this essential work at Georgetown Central School.

Nicole Niehof - Lead Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher

Nicole Niehof

We’re excited to welcome Ms. Niehoff back for her second year as the lead Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher at Georgetown Central School! Her classroom is a warm, engaging space where students learn through hands-on experiences, play, and meaningful connections to nature. She has a remarkable ability to connect with each child, helping them feel seen, supported, and confident as learners. A lifelong learner herself, Ms. Niehoff continually seeks new ways to grow in her practice. She is reflective, collaborative, and deeply committed to her students’ success. We’re so lucky to have her at GCS and can’t wait to see all she brings to our school community this year!
