Maine’s Positive Story of the Day ~ Boothbay Region High School in Boothbay Harbor ~

Boothbay Region High Schools are involved in many engaging projects for their students!

Students in the Boothbay Region High School, Marine Technology program are passionately engaged in learning boat carpentry skills as they complete an Echo Bay Dory Skiff designed by Maine boat designer, Clint Chase. Here, students are making custom templates for the seats. Skills learned include, milling lumber, marking and measuring, setting screws, setting bungs, and applying finishes. The finished skiff will be sold next summer, to pay for materials for the next project.

Some Boothbay Region High School students join other schools with partcipating in the District III Honors Music Festival. Students auditioned and were selected to participate. Working in cooperation and combining talents the students had the opportunity to represent their individual schools and join together to celebrate their love of music. This Year District III Honors Music Festival is being hosted by Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine.

Our students interviewed and visited with Dr. Attila Kovacs about a wide variety of topics.  Dr. Kovacs is an astrophysicist and programmer . Dr. Attila Kovacs is an engaging and extremely intelligent professional, originally from Hungary who currently lives in Germany.  He works both in the US and Germany. BRHS students love to invite specialist in to share their trades and experiences. Students found the discussion inspiring and the guest incredibly informative and fun!

Boothbay Region High School welcomed the Bath Tech (Bath Regional Career & Technical Center) faculty “Roadshow.” BRHS students had the opportunity to learn about available programming, meet program instructors, ask questions and explore interests.

There are many great things happening for our students at Boothbay Region High School!
