Dear 7th and 8th grade students, staff, and parents;

We are pleased to announce, pending approval of both school boards, that Boothbay Middle School grades 7 and 8 will be using space graciously made available by Wiscasset Middle / High School to complete their school year.  Both school boards will be voting on this at their Monday meetings to take effect after April vacation.

Wiscasset and the Boothbay Region share a unique historical and contemporary bond strengthened by friendly competition as well as cooperative athletic teams and sharing of resources when possible.  The willingness of the Wiscasset School Department and of the staff at the Middle High School to extend themselves and to make the adjustments necessary to accommodate our students and staff demonstrates an empathy and compassion that is all too rare in our society today.

We look forward to these next steps in strengthening the bonds between our communities for the benefit of our students.

Your principal will be sending you more detailed information on the transition schedule and procedures once they complete discussions with their staff.

Please contact us if you have any questions,

Sincerely,

Robert Kahler, Superintendent                                               Robert England, Superintendent
