WELCOME BACK FOR WHAT WILL BE A GREAT 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR!
CONGRATULATIONS DR. INGRID MERRILL - Boothbay High School foreign language teacher Ingrid Merrill recently earned her doctorate degree in French Literature. This is a tremendous accomplishment and indicative of the high caliber of teachers in our schools.
Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund (BRSAF) - Our students are very fortunate to have BRSAF, that for 50 years has been assisting BRHS graduates with money for their college education. If you would like to learn more or how you can donate online, check out www.brsaf.org.
Thank you "Set for Success! " My heartiest thanks to event founder and chair, Sue Burge, and to the many volunteers and contributors, who made this year's event an overwhelming success. It was heartwarming to see so many people enjoying the generosity of this great community.
Reid State Park - Right down the road from Georgetown Central School is one of the finest state parks in Maine. Be sure to visit Reid State Park this summer to enjoy the beauty of the ocean located in a community right in our school district.
Summer Work Projects Making a Difference at all Schools - Our maintenance crews are working hard to have the schools ready for opening later this month. Fresh paint, waxed floors, landscaping, ventilation repairs, playground improvements etc., will welcome students back.
Windjammer Days in Boothbay Harbor! As I viewed the beauty of the harbor with all the Windjammers peacefully floating on the water, it brought home how fortunate we are to live and work here. Hope you are having a great summer. I wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July!
Today I had the honor to present my first high school graduation certificate to a graduate of our reconstituted Adult Education Program. Nothing could make me prouder than to hand JJ Littlefield his diploma. He is hoping to secure a job at BIW now that he has his diploma.
